Each 30ml glass bottle has aĀ square shape with a groove on top thatĀ can be used as a pen rest.Ā These bottlesĀ are known as "D" bottles, which refers to the old French unit of measure "la Demi Courtine."

The names of each colour were inspired by French culture.Ā VertĀ OliveĀ is an olive green colour.Ā In France, the olive tree is a symbol of the summer holidays, the cicadas and the popular novels of that region from the renowned writer Marcel Pagnol.

Founded in 1670, J. Herbin is one of the oldest names in formal ink production in the world. The company's history can be traced back to a French sailor named Jacques Herbin, who drew on the techniques and innovations found on his voyages to establish himself as a master wax maker, later expanding into the production of ink and fine stationery.
